A Tiny Tuesday
Some stories don’t arrive with fireworks. They slip in quietly, like morning sunlight through half-open curtains. Today I want to share one of those stories about how sometimes tiny things change us the most.
There was once a woman named Ira. Though she was not broken, but felt scattered. It was like she had been living too fast for too long. Life had been a series of deadlines, responsibilities, and being strong in front of everyone around her. Strength is beautiful, but too much of it with no rest can turn into fatigue that settles in the bones.
One morning, while stirring the same cup of tea, which she is used to for years, she realized she couldn’t remember the last time she tasted it. She drank it everyday, but didn’t remember when she stopped tasting it. That single thought startled her:
*When did I become someone who finishes moments without actually being in them?*
So she decided, to start healing in the smallest possible way. She did not announce it or share it even with her husband. She dedicated five minutes every day to noticing one ordinary thing deeply.
One day it was the sound of her spoon knocking gently against the cup. Another day, it was the warmth of sunlight on her arm. Another, the way water sounded when it boiled- the bubbles rising, almost like laughter.
She realized the world had always been talking to her softly. She had just forgotten to listen.
Instead of changing her life overnight, she changed what she paid attention to. She brushed her hair more, dressed up beautifully, admiring herself. She folded clothes with care instead of speed. She opened the window every morning and took one meaningful breath before the day began.
It was nothing dramatic or very big, but tiny drops which filled her life to make the ocean.
Ira began to notice something surprising. She was calmer, happier, and more present, not because life suddenly became easier, but because she finally began participating in it.
The healing wasn’t loud, but was gentle, warm, and deeply human.
If you have been running, pushing, holding everything up, I hope this reminds you that healing doesn’t always need a perfect plan, a new chapter, or a major transformation.
Sometimes it just needs a moment or a few seconds to make big change. Even a willingness to live in the present, in the moment you already have, makes you ready for a beautiful lively change.
Tiny, but powerful.
Just like us.
Tiny Practice for Today
Choose one everyday activity- brushing your hair, making tea, folding laundry, cooking and do it slowly and mindfully. Just one task, one moment, five minutes of presence.
You can let me know here if you really liked the simple way of healing yourself and share your thoughts.
